Borderline Personality Disorder-BPD
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a mental health condition characterized by intense emotional reactions, unstable interpersonal relationships, a fluctuating sense of self, and impulsive or self-destructive behaviors. People with BPD often struggle with chronic feelings of emptiness, fear of abandonment, and difficulty regulating mood.
Common symptoms may include:
Rapid mood shifts and emotional sensitivity
Patterns of unstable or intense relationships
Fear of being rejected or left alone
Identity confusion or low self-worth
Impulsive behaviors such as reckless spending, disordered eating, or substance use
Self-injury or suicidal thoughts
Difficulty managing anger or feeling misunderstood
BPD often develops in response to a combination of biological vulnerability and environmental factors, including early life trauma or invalidating experiences. Although BPD can be challenging, it is highly treatable.
